Email DavidDavid was born in Fairmont, Minnesota, but spent his growing up years in Milwaukee and in Seward, Nebraska. His parents were both Lutheran school teachers and graduates of Concordia Teachers College in Seward. David attended there also, graduating with a degree in teaching in 1976.
However, the influence of parents and other relatives, as well as pastors and professors, convinced David to become a pastor. David says, “The thought of learning the Greek of the New Testament and studying God’s Word in its original language was exciting to me. I really wanted to get to the grass roots of the Christian religion and see for myself if the things I had been taught were true. And, I could see no higher calling in life than to bring people to the knowledge of their Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Having graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in 1980, David has served congregations in Wyandotte, Michigan, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Owatonna, Minnesota and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He has been serving at Trinity since December 2000.
David met his wife, Lisa, while serving his congregation in Albuquerque. They were married in 1988 in a special, Sunday morning worship service! Together, David and Lisa have five children: Becca, Tim, Sarah, Hannah and Marysa. They enjoy serving in the church, traveling, walking, riding bikes, playing games and watching movies.
